Specialized Fiqh Library
Creating a specialized library is undeniably
an absolute necessity especially at the present age when different branches of
sciences are developing rapidly and becoming increasingly specialized. The
library of the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) was established to
provide exclusive services and create a suitable atmosphere for the students and
researchers of the Islamic seminary (Hawzah) in general and the researchers of
Jurisprudential Center in particular. It is one of the richest and most
frequented libraries in the country.
This library is managed
and run in "open-shelf" manner and at present it contains over 30000 books with
many more being added regularly to it. Books have been shelved on subject basis
under the following titles:
Shia Jurisprudence (Fiqh);
Shafei Jurisprudence;
Hanbali Jurisprudence;
Maliki Jurisprudence;
Miscellaneous Schools' Jurisprudence (Zaidi, Zaheri, Abazi, etc.);
Principles of Jurisprudence;
History of Jurisprudence;
The Principles of Shia Jurisprudence;
The Principles of Ahl-e Sunnah Jurisprudence;
Comparative Jurisprudence and Encyclopedias of Jurisprudence;
Islamic Law Verses;
Shia Tradition;
Ahl-e Sunnah Tradition;
Law
Rijal and Dirayah (Traditionists and Contextual Study of Traditions);
Fiqh Magazines, etc.
It is worth mentioning
that a software containing searchable indexes of the titles of the entire books
and their contents have been prepared and uploaded on the Center’s website. (The
URL addresses of the website will be given later in this pamphlet.).
One of the projects of
this center is to prepare CD-Roms of the books and make them available for
readers.
One of the other
distinctive features of this library is the possibility of using various
software products for research purposes.
Research in new areas is difficult due to lack
of researchers' access to textual resources and reference works. In order to
facilitate research, the Center has tried to find source books with the help of
some researchers and make them available for those in need.
