Website and Computer Unit
Considering the necessity
of using modern technology and its significant role in the area of Islamic
sciences, the computer department was equipped and set up simultaneously with
the establishment of the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) so as to help
accomplish and expedite specialized research projects and undertakings
especially those dealing with Fiqh and its principles.
Works authored by his
eminence Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani, the founder of the center, are
processed, recorded, printed and kept in this department. It is worth mentioning
that the audio and video works of his eminence are digitalized and made
available for theologians, intellectuals and religious scholars.
The official website of
Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani (may his soul rest in peace)
is also active in this connection. It contains a considerably large amount of
online information and updates about his life, works, lectures and verdicts on a
wide range of issue.
It is necessary to
mention that the software department of the Center is making continued efforts
to produce and present special CD-ROMs on the jurisprudence of the Ahlalbayt
(a.s.). These efforts will bear fruit soon.
Considering that the
objective of the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) is to hold
specialized classes on jurisprudence and courses for training jurists, the
computer department contributes actively and greatly in preparation of
pamphlets, dissertations, articles and research works by the center’s teachers
and researchers.
There are different
sections functioning in the com-puter department, they are:
1) Internet
Generating and producing
information is a complex task especially when it comes to maintaining internet,
web sites and databanks. Different sections of the computer department and the
Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) help the internet section produce and
handle information. At present, three websites are hosted, maintained and run in
this section.
A) The Official Website of Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani
(may his soul rest in peace)
At present, this web site
is active in six languages: English, Farsi, Arabic, Russian, Azeri and Urdu.
Although during the lifetime of the grand Ayatollah, the website was ready to
reply to visitors' questions in 27 languages, the website is active with a large
number of online and searchable books. The digital library on this website is
continuously updated with new books from His Eminence.
In addition, the website enables a large
number of regular visitors to contact the late Marja's office and direct their
religious and ideological queries to the Board of Istifta
which is supervised by his dignified son. For instance, in the year 2006, the
website received more than 28000 emails in 15 languages from all over the world.
Each email includes an average 3 questions. In addition to jurisprudential,
ideological and social issues and problems answered in the emails, the website
also contains late Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani’s verdicts, messages and statements
about different religious and political events.
The news section being
one of the permanent and ever-changing sections of the website is regularly
updated with office news and its repercussion in the media.

B) Website of His Eminence's
son, Sheikh Muhammad Jawad Fazel Lankarani
Sheikh Muhammad Jawad Fazel Lankarani has been giving Kharij (postgraduate)
lectures on Fiqh and Usul for the past eight consecutive years. Despite his
unwillingness, his educational website was launched at the request of his
students and some seminarians to help acquaint them with his jurisprudential
views and standpoints.
Sheikh Jawad Fazel
Lankarani’s lectures and inter-views with the media are uploaded on this website
in text and audio formats. Some of his published works have been placed in the
'works' section of the website. His Eminence holds his own particular scientific
views which are reflected on his website and publications under his name.

C) Website of the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.)
Books published by the Jurisprudence Center of
Pure Imams (a.s.) have been uploaded and made searchable online. In addition,
selected articles and dissertations of the students of the specialized courses
of the Center have been posted online.

2 – Typesetting & Publishing
Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani's works are
typed, checked and made ready for publication. In addition, the Center's
research works, as well as articles and dissertations of the Center's students
are typed and published here.
This unit plays an important role in
introducing new data to the library. Additionally, the giant Fiqh databank project is underway and it is going to be made ready in the
near future.
3) Designing and Graphics
The websites' template and graphical designs are produced and developed in the computer department.
Web-based designing modules for development of web pages in different languages,
graphical designs for books, brochures, placards for various occasions and
purposes including national and international fairs are part of the activities
of this section. The designs are prepared in such a way as to suit the norms,
cultures and tastes of the addressees.
4) Programming and Applications
Web based programming for the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) is one of
the main tasks of the computer department. Search engines for websites, mail
program, mail bank and mail registry software, send and receive program are the
projects which so far have been completed by this department. The special
library software is a good specimen of the software products prepared and
introduced by the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.).
